    Brown BLW Legend

We have sold most of our Red Angus cows to focus more on the Blacks so haven't been really looking at the Reds as much.

    Brown BLW Legend

No, his yearling FS was 4.5 and Epic himself was only 5. I did see Epic in the flesh and quite liked him. The Legend daughters here were definitely smaller than the average, especially compared against the size of their dams.

    Brown BLW Legend

They are good cows, but they are small - Legend really knocked frame score down here. So as long as you don't mind smaller cows I think he is an excellent choice to make some productive, trouble free cows.

How has Payweight 1682 done for you

My real point is that foot quality is environment specific. So to say that you can copy what works for someone in a specific environment to bring it to yours isn't true. I have been to Western ranches that say they don;t have foot issues, but analyzing the feet there I know they are not nearly...

How has Payweight 1682 done for you

I disagree - a lot of the cattle in the west run on tough ground and will wear feet - they just don't see the foot issues that we do running on higher organic soils that are very productive and intensively managed.

    Prostaglandin after ET

With Bovine recips you put the embryos in and then leave them - nothing else needed except decent nutrition. As Lucky P said you probably mean Progesterone in your question. Prostaglandin is to make the females cycle and if you gave that post implantation you might cause the recip to abort the...

Name a Proven Angus Heifer Bull who is a Foot Improve

Glad to hear he can track down heifers in a feed yard pen. And I trust the person who told me about his feet. I don't know Musgraves, and haven't been to see their herd. I do like the looks of some of the bulls that come out of the operation via video and pics and in one case I saw him in...

Name a Proven Angus Heifer Bull who is a Foot Improve

Billings is great because there are three studs within about half an hour and you can see a lot of bulls in a couple days, and I tell everyone It is well worth your while to go see any bulls before you use them - and ask some questions while there. You can see a lot in a video as well in terms...

Name a Proven Angus Heifer Bull who is a Foot Improve

Just talked to someone the other day that saw Stunner in stud and said he had terrible feet. I also don't like they way he moves off his front end and he is a bit short strided (both of those opinions based on a couple different videos I have seen of him). I did use Musgrave Aviator after seeing...

    Angus bull thoughts.

Silver in your original post you had something about not being an Angus fan. Here is the bulls info - just a pedigree - no EPD's because there arn't any calves yet and probably no DNA done other than parentage? I wouldn't expect big numbers though because none of the other Dunlouise bulls were...

    Musgrave Aviator

I went through the three Billings Montana area studs (Genex, Origen, World West) in the spring of 2016 and Aviator was easily the best bull for phenotype that I saw out of probably more than 100 Angus bulls. I used a cane in the spring of 2017 as that was the first year it was available to me in...

    Angus bull thoughts.

I have actually seen the bull in the Flesh. I was in Scotland in 2017? and attended the Dunlouise Angus sale. They breed "Traditional" Angus - no outside pedigrees from other countries. The cattle are certainly smaller and thus easier fleshing in their environment. I did notice quite a bit of...

    Brown BLW Legend

Not that close - GS of Legend is sire of Redemption, and that is about it. Actually there are pictures of Redemptions dam and a daughter on the Genex site. The daughter has a terrible udder and the mother looks like she would have the same unbalanced udder if she was in milk. One of the reasons...

    Brown BLW Legend

Anyone have any experience with daughters from this Red Angus bull? We sampled him very lightly, kept a couple daughters and really like them. We found them moderate - probably bordering on small frame, but with a lot of top and middle to them so they weighed up well. They are very easy to be...

    Aubrac cattle in France

I went to Aquitanima a couple years ago. Great trip. There was a 4-day tour set up plus the show in Bordeaux (in mid-May). Saw lots of Blonde cattle as the area south of Bordeaux towards the Pyrenees - almost no other beef breeds in that area. France is still fairly divided that way - you have...
