There should be progress every hour. If progress stops then it is time to do something. As far as holding her down....that can be pretty tough if you don't have a chute but there are ways....none of which I know much about.

KNERSIE, No offense to anyone on here but you might check with a real nutritionist with a question of this nature. I believe that wheat can be used but hear-say usually gets one nowhere.

dj is exactly right. I supplement with hay very little, but when I do I always roll out enough for two days....every other day. Same with grain/cubes etc. although, once agian, I use those very, very rarely.
