Do I need to put out anything other than mineral if I turn out cows on a wheat pasture?

Say I am going to clear a pasture by hand and will be cutting down the mesquite in my pasture. Is there anything I can put on the stumps to make them decay at a faster rate?

All heifers are either Angus or Brangus and the bull was a "Low birth weight Angus" :shock: Bull. They have been out in the pasture and all have been fed the same the last 12 months. I have put out protein tubs but didnt think it would cause a problem such as this.

so when using a bull on this heifer, should I try a longhorn or is there something else I could have done?

People say all the time, dont grow hay, buy it. You can buy hay cheaper than you can grow it and use your pastures for grazing. Well, at what price does it become more profitable to make round bales than to go out and buy them?

Went to check heifers today and noticed on of them bagging up like it was getting ready to calve. I am having a hard time figuring this out because the bulls were placed with them at the beginning of March. What might make her bag up?
