Can someone explain the scramble certificate to me..

Our daughter has caught at San Antonio, Heart of Texas, and Austin. She's scrambled at Houston and Fort Worth as well. These certificates are good for breeding animals ONLY. Heart of TX allows you to purchase unregistered sheep and hogs(must be gilts though) to show. Cattle must be heifers...

    Please help. Steer won't eat.

I agree with the post above that mentions using Progest 30---it is a fantastic daily probiotic. It wouldn't hurt to start the Progest 30 and do 3-4 days of Probios with it, to get him going in the right direction. As hot as it has been in Texas this year, the feed is probably too hot (with the...

    Belt Buckle

We showed a heifer and steers. I thought there were less than last year for sure. We were in the same barn that was full last year, and this year we had an empty aisle across from us. Class sizes were still ok though with 8-15 in each class and 4-5 classes per breed. This was our first year...

    Tying Show Heifers

What do you guys do with your show heifers? We are just getting into showing heifers and only have our steer knowledge to pull from. I would appreciate any tips on how you handle them daily. We tie our steers daily under fans/misters. If we have some we are worried about structure on then...

    Divisions for 4-h..in Texas

There is a way around the age requirement....The rule states they must be 8 OR in 3rd grade. Our daughter had an October birthday but because she was in third grade she was allowed to show. Maybe this will help you.

Age of animal @ time of shows?

If your wanting to show market animals in the junior shows, you need to check your county/state rules for weight minimums. We have a 900 lb. - 1000 lb. min. at most Texas county adn state shows. You will NEVER make it with a Feb. 08 calf, if you have these type minimums. We have shown several...

    Need some advice

The t-post are not necessarily a bad idea. You can drive the t-posts into the ground and then put pvc pipe over them. It does work! The pvc pipe is slick and keeps them from getting hurt.

    Sheep?

You can still go on view, read, and search posts. You only need a password to post messages or replies. I'd give it another try

    Sheep?

You need to go to mylamb.com! NOBODY used ramps anymore...it causes the lamb to break at the loin. If you want to build the lower hind quarter...work them backwards on a treadmill. We used a "people" one and modified it with nothing more than 2 panels and a 2x4. 3-5 minutes every other day...
