I just drilled some Cold-Grazer Rye with a JD 137-B Drill (like a Van-Brundt). Got 3/10" rain on it and it's up 4" already. I drilled it in on 10/27. SW Missouri. Supposedly...when days warm up and get above mid-30's, the stuff will grow some. I don't think cows like it quite as good as wheat...

That's interesting...and makes sense. I lost 2 calves this summer about the same age. There was quite a bit of Perilla Mint in those pastures...I since sprayed those pastures...killing the mint...no issues since. Hmmm...thanks!
