    Salt water in a jug

Had a fella tell me yesterday that they use empty milk jugs with a screw on lid. Fill the jug about half full (maybe a little less because you want the jug to float) and then pour in a cup or so of salt. Said it keeps an area about 3 inches around the outside of the jug ice free. Said that...

    Barrel feeder in tire

Had a chance to get there and took a few pics of the calves. Angus heifers x Red Angus low birthweight bulls. Only one pic came through...sorry. Got a couple more of them to load.

    Barrel feeder in tire

Ok, we don't get 60" of rain a year...I wished that were my problem to have. Ranch is in Nolan County about half way between Dallas and El Paso. Kinda known as west Texas. Haven't had one get tipped over yet (3 will be dumped out on the ground tomorrow when I go feed now that I have written this...lol). Even when virtually empty, none...

    Barrel feeder in tire

None has broke loose so far. Time will tell, but it's definitely easier than the tire. I'll let ya know if they do break loose.

    Barrel feeder in tire

We had a bunch of those blue plastic tubs from TSC that had fly control mineral in them at one time and all we did was pour some quikrete cement in them. Let them set up and then use. They're heavy enough that they don't travel far even though they're not permanently in place and if you need...

What To Do With Giant Satelite Dish

Make a cattle panel deer blind and use the dish for the roof. Seen several people do it and they say they're nice and dry.

Slick Way to Sort Cows and Calves

Rather than cutting the bottom two bars of the panel, I think I'd just raise the panel. Then when done, relower it and it's still a gate if needed.

Send me your email if you want to and I'll email you my Excel sheet that we use. I just looked at several online versions and made up my own.
