I have a skunk that has taken up residence in my barn. Every time I go to feed I smell it but have not found it yet. Got any ideas how I can get rid of this without it getting me first. I don't have time to wait all day or night to dispose of it with a rifle. Thanks for any help you can give me.
let the vet do it. best $20 you can spend on a cow. my vet used a rope saw and an iron to seal the wound. he controlled the bleeding with cotton balls and after they got soak he caterized them. Cow came off the trailer eating hay and didn't miss a beat.
Our's are huge..........at least when I first see them. Some of our older does are bigger than our bucks........bucks live weight maybe 140 average, does around 100 or so. There are some big bucks killed every year but they don't get big by being stupid. I love to hunt and don't care if I...
I hate horns!! I had two cows pushing each other around and when one decided to exit the match she almost got me. I was able to push off of her. I loaded her up a few days later and had the vet cut them off. Best $20 dollars I've spent on my cows. It was nasty but I would have paid a lot...
I had a vet dehorn one for me. Boy was she mad after I got her on the trailer to carry her to the vet. I think she was afraid I was not going to carry her back home. She was a totally different animal on the way home. I think she realized that she was headed back home. It cost me twenty...
I was given an old JD sickle mower. I'm interested in seeing some pictures of what this mower looked like in a past life. I would like to restore to operational status. I found the ID tag and know it's a john deere but can't read much more than that and the tag is so brittle. It appears the...
I came across an old John Deere sickle mower. I can't read but just a little of the ID tag, but the mower appears to be suspended from the tractor by chains, no 3 point hitch. Also there is a board that attaches to mower part to the pto. I would like to restore this piece back to operational...
where I have them now they have limited access to acorns. The piles she leaves are still basically intact with a whole lot of splatter. I will get a vet to test her. I'm concerned now about what happens to the meat from the cows who have this disease. I borrowed a young bull from a friend...
you gals and guys are great. I appreciate your thoughts and concern. My small herd has all been born on my place except for one cow. Even though this cow is aggravating at times, I try to take good care of them. I raise my own beef and am somewhat concerned about the disease in the meat my...
I use to use strictly blocks but after all the help I receive off of this site I changed to loose mineral. She seems to be some better last night but did not see her poop. I'll try to get some shots in her.
Got a cow with about a five month old calf on her and I noticed that she has very runny bowels and looks like she has really lost some weight in the last few days. I feed just about everyday and she gets every bit of her share and also keep hay out. We had a few very warm days here in north...
