Simbrah Sires calves naturally at 19 years old

You don't have a clue. Both heifers in question failed DNA test before formal complaint was filed. The ASA suspended the papers because they don't believe a sire that old could naturally sire calves. The breeders threatened a lawsuit and they caved. So, my heifer will be bred to an angus and...

    ASA's Response

Simbrah Sires calves naturally at 19 years old

"If the sire was never reported dead, and ASA has no other knowledge, they CANNOT refuse to register the calves. The owners can't all of a sudden claim they were AI sired calves, because the bull would have had to pass DNA tests BEFORE you use his semen. Pretty tricky - 19 years old huh...

Sad Day for the Simmental Assocation

In order to compete in this breed, I think you need to register your Maine as a simbrah. Be careful though and make sure the bull you choose is dead and you several calves from the same sire to cross check dna with. The maine brothers and sisters will work just fine. Can't prove they are not a...

Simbrah Sires calves naturally at 19 years old

What do you all think? For really, the ASA is allowing calves to be registered from an old bull. He naturally bred one at 18 years and one at 19 years. Is it possible?

Sad Day for the Simmental Assocation

Would you believe that they reinstated the papers of a heifer that they suspend that was supposedly bred naturally by an 18 year and 3 month bull at conception? Talking about longivity for a bull. Our association has just opened the door for a lot of bogus papers. So it you have a good club calf...

    Congrats ffamom

I was pulling for the calve champion. It was a close call. The champion has a lot of power, but needs a little more neck. The calf champion was little more balanced in my opinion. Both are awesome heifers.

Ft. Worth Star Telegram Article Related to Simbrah Show

Competition stirs controversy behind the scenes By LIZ STEVENS Star-Telegram Staff Writer The cattle buildings were abuzz with a particularly biting brand of barn talk. The hearsay had to do with a particular heifer. Was she really the breed her owners claimed she was? Or did she not exactly fit...

Trust me, they did throw a fit. The FWSSR made the decision to let the animal be exhibited. Good idea on asking the the exhibitors membership be suspended as well. The breeders are trying, but now it is time for the Jr members to take a stand. Their parents are too afraid of the what we call...

She was not DQed. She won and believe it or not the reserve was from the same breeder. If you want to help prevent this from happening at San Antonio & Houston, then we need a letter writing campaign to all the officials. The only way to stop this corruption is to fight it head on. We have sat...
