What kind of dog is this?

Very nice dog. I have 2 Anatolians and 2 Great Pyrenees. I love both breeds, but Anatolians are the way I'll go from here on. Lucky you!

    Rescueing from a kill pen

Bryant, you summed it up and I agree whole heartedly with you. We have 8 acres and 3 little grand daughters. ANYTHING on our place that doesn't get along, is mean or dangerous cannot stay here, from a chicken to a horse. A mean rooster makes a nice pot of soup, a ram makes "ramburger" can't make...

    Fescue in NE Texas?

Well if I don't like it, I can just let the sheep eat it to death. They eat right down to the roots, all I gotta do is just not move them, I'll have a dirt lot, back to square one.

    Rescueing from a kill pen

I have a 8 year old gelding from a kill pen. Chestnut, chrome on all 4 legs, blaze, 13 hands, fantastic kid horse. Friendly, follow you anywhere, great little horse. He was skinny, but roly-poly now, easy keeper. Cost $800 and worth every penny. There are some real nice horses that go to...

    Big or small dogs?

My 104 pound black Lab/Great Dane loves kitty snacks and will eat kittens in one or two gulps. He despises cats, as do my other 3 dogs. ALL of my dogs are fantastic with children and babies. The Lab/Great Dane got between a neighbor and her 2 year old boy and growled at her because she was...

What do you feed your dogs

We have 2 Great Pyrenees, an Australian Shepherd and a black Lab/Great Dane mix. We feed them Victor dog food and table scraps. When I slaughter chickens, I can the back pieces, feet, necks with rice, in quart jars. When they go off their feed, they get "canned chicken". They love it...

    Fescue in NE Texas?

I looked at the bag again, it is Kentucky 32. When you say the endophyte doesn't persist, do you mean that it will die each year like the Gulf rye does? Or will it come back a couple of years and eventually fizzle out? Oh well, if I can get a good winter graze out of it, I guess I'll have to be...

    Fescue in NE Texas?

Did I just mess up? We are north of Interstate 20 in Smith County Texas and just bought 150 pounds of Tall Kentucky 31 endophyte free seeds. We have 8 acres, partially to mostly wooded that we have fought green briars off several acres and now I want grass! We have hair sheep, not cattle. Hope...

    Welcome Tropical Storm Harvey

Greybeard, I am so relieved that you and your wife made it through this storm. I am sorry about the premie calf, he sure was a pretty little fellow. I was just commenting to my husband, wonder what his cows have to eat. Are you able to salvage any of your hay? There is plenty of hay up here in...
