if I am going to cut, might as well cut. prefer it personally, anyway. let the "help" band if they want as I can't find any literature saying one way is better or worse than the other in terms of recovery but two nuts on the fence post beats missing one above a band.
also getting tired of dogs finding old mummified testicles and puking them back up. they digest fresh ones just fine. we often have older animals to castrate and sometimes those things are BIG.
