Yellowstone

Used the son, After Shock - double-bred SF38K. First calves should be hitting the ground in the next week or so.
Should breed pretty similarly, though AS has higher WW epd by about 8 .

First After Shock calf hit the ground today... 10 days past AI due date, out of a big SHXSimAngus first-calf heifer. I'd given up and decided that she'd failed to stick to her AI service and was bred to the Angus cleanup sire. From the size of this calf, I don't think the Angus bull is the sire, and if it were... it'd be 10 days early and even smaller than the calves he usually sired. So...I'm reasonably certain that it is an After Shock.
1 day old... what can you say... it's alive, on its feet, nursing, and following dam.
