yeast cake?

I have a older recipe of My Moms, that calls for yeast cake? I can't find it anywhere, do they still sell that?

Yes they do. You might Google "Red Star Cake Yeast" It's also known as wet yeast.



ETA: I just Googled it, and found it quickly, but they have this disclaimer:

RED STAR® Cake Yeast it is available in limited areas of IN, IL, MA, MI, MN, NJ, NH, OH and WI.

Probably close to distributors.

That explains that, I'm originally from WI. Maybe I could just substitute regular yeast.
