This gal lost her calf Jan when the thermometer hit 5 degrees. It was close to the hay rings so not sure if the cold got it or it got stepped on . So she bred back quick and calved yesterday. Big nice heifer . She’s a milk wagon and has 2 daughters in our herd now . And yes we have a couple with horns , some tiger stripes, and around 20 red cows ; counting the Hereford. I’m not totally black hide matters .

My thought too. Buying old one and dones that bag would go as points against her.

Think that comes from the Hereford side of herr genetics. This is the day she calved so there’s some swelling there .She has 4 teats no extra small ones . No balloon teats ; all are the size a calf can latch on them . I think I’ll keep her till she can’t raise a calf .
