Women hunting hogs !

I watched a vedio on yotetube the other day that was of about 4 women who was hog hunting.

I have never seen anything like that before. These 4 women(looked to be in there 30's) along with what looked like 2 pit bull dogs hunted down and killed a pretty big hog.

What was so different about it was their method of killing it. They turned the dogs loose which caught the hog beside a big creek, lake or river i am not sure what type of body of water they caught the hog by.

But anyway one dog had a hold of the hog by its snout and the other had hold of its back leg. The dogs had it moblized, it was not going anywhere.

Well these women walked up to it and one of them starts stabbing it with a big knife in the shoulders and neck. Another womam grabs hold of a back leg to kind of help to subdue the hog and keep it from running off.

Then the woman stabbing the hog sits or sort of lays on the hog and continues stabbing it. It looked like she was tring to stab it in the heart or cut its jugglar veins. Then another woman gets on the other side of the hog and starts stabbing the hog.

Then one of the women starts pulling the dog that has ahold of its snout off of the hog. I guess because the hog is getting weak from a loss of blood.

I am not weak hearted and dont mind killing animals. I have hunted all my life. But it was something about their method of killing that old hog that made me feel a little sorry for the hog.

I mean i always try to kill what ever i am killing quick and humane. :roll: The way thoes women were doing it looked like a slow painful death for that hog. :roll:

Holy smokes ~ I felt light headed just reading your description of what happened. I think there is something mentally wrong with people who behave in such a way ~ seriously. I'm all for hunting, but thats not hunting.....

And these women showed no emotion what so ever. :lol: I guess i am getting soft or something. The 2 knife toteing women reminded me a whole lot of my x wife. :roll:

Stepper that's just plain awfull. I enjoy hunting but I don't enjoy seeing animals suffer. Reminds me of a forign country I was in while in the military.(won't mention the country)They ate dogs and would tenderize the meat by hanging the dog up by the hind legs and beating it to death with sticks.
Not a good sight to see.

Shooting a deer from 300 yds with a high powered rifle while he eats corn you put out or getting up close to an animal who WILL fight back and WILL hurt you if you make a wrong move and trying to kill it with a knife. Don't know about you, but I feel the latter is much more true hunting.

We catch em with dogs and knife em regularly. If you stick em right they die quickly. I find they die MUCH quicker than shooting them with a rifle and running forever until they slowly bleed out.

Well to each his own but I do a good enough shot placement they havent run on me yet. If I have a doubt in a shot I just wont take it.

Yeah, I'm not sold. Maybe I'm too soft, but I don't think so. Do what you do, I guess. I come from a family of hunters and my boys hunt. It would break my heart if they participated in something like this.

Got to wonder if they happen to be thinking of the men in their life all the while they are jabbing the heck outa that poor thing. :shock:

Went to a sportsman's show some years ago, had an outfitter there that specialized in that kinda hog killin, you got to chose your weapon, knife, spear, pole with knife on the end, etc, etc,......I prefer a rifle from a distance, me not like to get eaten up. :lol: :cboy:

I dont have no problem killing a hog with a knife. It is just in this picticulare instantance it dont look like it was done quite right. :lol:

It was sort of a slow death. I know in slaughter houses on cattle they just cut their throats and the animal bleeds out good.

View it yourself and see what you think. I remember as a kid watching my Dad kill hogs with a hammer between the eyes and the animal dropped as quick as if it had of if it had been shot.

Its how all our ancestors provided for their families. Knives, spears, ect... I find it gratifying to hunt just man and his dog vs hog. It is a fair battle... no technology or baiting.

Is it more humane to lure a deer to with scented feed all year, then crawl in you heated blind, with a high power rifle, shoot the deer in the side, let them run off, then give them 30 min or so to die them mount their head on the wall like you did some thing special. That is if they don't gut shoot them like you see most of the time...

These ladies obviously did not know what they were doing. When it is done right by experienced hunters a hog can be dispatched with a knife in seconds. Far faster than any bullet.

We hunt hogs with dogs. It is the flat out most effective, legal, method for controlling the hog population. Hogs cost farmers, ranchers, and all type of other people millions of dollars in damage every year... the most recent being landscaping in neighborhoods and golf coarses.

Don't be fooled... it is not a one sided battle. Lots of times the hogs win. Their teeth are like razors and can kill a dog and rip you up in a hurry.

Its just like any thing else... you get some wackos with a camera and start acting stupid they can make skinning a deer look inhumane... especially if they are anti-s with an agenda. ;-)

Never done it myself but it is not uncommon here for people to go after hogs with dogs and a knife. Certainly more sporting than a gun. More in the spirit of a true humter to my way or thinking.

Didn't watch video but novices can foul up anythng. Maybe the women were on some sort of ego kick trying to prove something
But that is just speculation on my part.

Stepper, there are lots of folks who hunt that way. I've only been out with friends a few times. I've never stuck one but have seen it done.

If they shoot a gun, it will run several other hogs for miles and miles destroying fence along the way. I prefer the knife method for that reason. I like the kill going as humanely as possible, even tho I despise hogs.

Never seen women do it but there is no doubt that they are more than capable. Probably can be attributed to their upbringing. You just need to understand the hogs anatomy, the bone encased vitals, and where to stick it. It is probably more humane than catching fish.

AND when you are hunting hogs with dogs cutting the throat is not really an option. It too dangerous to get by the head of a hog.

Would you stick you arm, legs, face down close to these to cut the hogs throat? :shock:

Had a friend of mine that hunted hogs with a knife. Dogs would hold it and he'ld saunter up and stick it once, end of story.

Aint they all? From what I hear, they're all meaner than a one eyed snake. I even heard that in a song. So true they wrote songs about it.

From now on when me and the little woman has a disagreement before i go to bed i am going to count all of the kicthen knifes and make sure they are where they are suppose to be and sleep with one eye open. 8)
