Hope everyone in the path of this storm comes out ok, were about an hour north of chicago, and forecast is 22" of snow 7' drifts, 20 to 45 mile an hour winds, its nine o clock pm and I dont think there going to be to far off with this forecast, they say this could be the worst storm since 1967, stay safe.

Nasty here. Blew and snowed all night. Four foot drifts all around my house, gonna have to shovel to get out. It is a mess and ain't done yet. Thank the goodness we haven't lost power! Hope we get thru this without losing it. I am not gonna start pushing snow till this is done. Gave the cows some extra groceries and bedding last night so I am hunkered in.

Don't you just hate all this global warming? Just think how bad it could be if not for all the warming going on. :hide: :cboy:

I knew I was in trouble Tuesday morning when I could not open my front door which faces north. ( iced over ) The outhouse was another story. When I got to my gate the combination lock was iced up and frozen. Don't know how you people up North do this every year. Then I get out to the main road and it is closed  The dog wouldn't even get out of the truck.

Make sure your lock is full of WD40 BEFORE the rain. It helps a lot.

Locks on my truck doors are not frozen but there is a 3/8" glaze over the whole truck - all sealed up nice and neat. All my gates and barn doors are chained with dog chain snaps. I put a 5 gal bucket upside-down over the post to keep them dry. Freezing drizzle blew in under it anyway. Back to the house to get something to thaw them.

Is it apparently a rule that when you have on 6 inches of clothing and a 2 inch hose, you always have to pee? And yeah, I'm probably stretchin' the hose part a bit!   (But I don't really think that's funny.)

We've got food. We've got wood. We've got water. If they roll the power off again I can fire up the welder for electricity.

There are a whole lot of folks out in this neck of the woods who are not as fortuneate as me.

Now is not the time to come up with a plan to prevent your water from freezing.

Haven't seen a Sears catalog in years, Do they still make them ? I got a catalog from TSC last year.

Yeah I think so...but you have to pick them up at the store....Use to get a year's supply twice a year..Sears, Wards, JC Penny and and about 40 J.C. Whitney catalogs.
