They have had a rocky relationship since Barr said that the DOJ had found no evidence of widespread fraud in the election. I do not know if he just resigned or if he was asked to.

Rep. Paul Mitchell is leaving the GOP for the remainder of his term. Probably for similar reasons.

Barr is likely leaving because Trump was on him for not disclosing before the election that Hunter was under investigation. It's not good for the justice process to disclose that information. I'm sure he's tired of always being under fire from either the media or Trump. He probably doesn't think he has much left to do anyway.
