I cant speak for "people". I can only speak for my people(family). The answer is NOPE. I did see a young mother letting a bull dog lick her year old baby in the face a few months back. Turned my stomach.

yeah it depends on the hygiene, I've seen dogs keep theirselves clean, course they weren't in the shower doing it...... :lol2:

I have given this subject more serious consideration. After much thought, I think you are less likely to contract a serious pathogenic microbe from a dog than a person.

Dogs do carry oral microbes that can cause disease in man. In addition, some invertebrate parasites can be transmitted by the "lick" of a dog. However, in today's promiscuous society, you never know where some one has had their mouth. In conclusion, I will take my chances with the dog.

PS: Dash brought up a scholarly point. Our dogs may be at risk from contact with humans. I have just taken a moment to inform both of my dogs not to lick a human in the mouth as they may contract a pathogenic microbe or worse.
