why my clover won't grow

both taken in the last 3 weeks--one to the south from my front porch, the next from my back porch to the north.

It will make you mad but sometime put a wire cage over an area to see how it will grow if they were not eating it.
 
It's not like they don't have plenty else to eat. See the area just to the right of the metal water trough? Those aren't leaves--they're acorns. I've never seen as many acorns as we have had this year..
 
The acorns become bitter after a while so they have to find alternative foods in this case your clover. Deer prefer white oak acorns most and red oak is edible to them if nothing else available but more bitter.

GB that is some mighty fine sausage and steak meat.
It would not be a problem for me to assist you.
For free I would be more than happy in surveying the farm and
suggest more clover plots.
 
We inadvertently took care of the deer. My son had some half trained blue tick / walker cross pups that we let out occasionly. They have kept the deer away from our property.

Don't feel bad I planted 150 pounds for the cows and deer.
Couple years ago I planted 50 pounds of purple hull peas for the deer.
I figured I would get a bushel of peas for the freezer. I didn't plant enough either.
Didn't get a pea. :lol:
