To all the purebred Shorthorn Breeders: My daughter has a Copperfield cow that we bred to WHR Sonny calved 3 days ago. She is a red neck, dark red roan heifer. She is sharp to look at. Was wondering if anyone else bred to Sonny and how the older new borns are looking? We tried to incorporate a carcass trait leader (the cow) with a bull that would add style and showring apperance. Your input would be greatly appreciated because now as good as she looks at this young age we need to make desisions of either selling her in a production sale or keeping her as a replacement female.

Although I don't breed shorts, some friends of mine just went to the sale last month at WHR in Texas. They felt that the calves from Sonny were THE best calves there, and went on to purchase some semen off him. Having seen their pictures, I'd tend to agree with them. His calves were structurally correct and very muscular.
