Which winter annual to plant now.

Has been too wet behind tobacco in NC, maybe able to plant the weekend. Wheat or ryegrass? Just looking for best spring grazing and quick cover. Some of both is my plan.

plant wheat and rye grass togather if you can still get the seed.put out 100lbs wheat to ac and 25lbs rye grass to the ac.

Im pretty sure he meant rye grass. Its an annual. majority of it Is Gulf ryegrass in the south

Actually, I thought the one in that link was rye grain as well, just mis-named as rye grass. It’s very possible I’m mistaken, but I thought all rye grasses were perennials.

Edit: After just a little research, I can see that I am indeed wrong. Annual ryegrass and cereal rye are two different things. Sorry for getting sidetracked.
