I think this subject has been beat to death but I can't find any discussion here on the subject. Saturday I finished baling hay for the season and I'm now in the market for a new mower. The mower I have now is four years old and the company that made it went out of business and repair parts are no longer available. It's a shame because when I bought this one I had every intention of getting a Kuhn but got talked into the IMA (Italian POS). "Fool me once and shame on you, fool me twice and shame on me" as the saying goes so this dealer will not be getting anymore business from me. Anyway, I'm still leaning toward the Kuhn in a 10' size but some folks have told me the Vicon is also a good mower and is better at cutting Bohia. Why is that? 3 blades vs two? The Vicon runs around $15K but don't know about Kuhn. Would appreciate any words of wisdom from you folks.

Thanks.

Check on the availability of parts for the Vicon. I had a Vicon baler, really liked it, except........parts had to come from Holland. The electronics went out on the baler, sold it 6 ,omths later, still with the elctronics out.

My wife's grandfather has a Kuhn and likes it. He's had it for several years and mowed a lot of hay with it. I know you didn't ask about Vermeer , but I've heard a lot of good things about their mowers. There are a lot of them in my area.

Kuhn mowers are the norm here but I have a Krone and it's been good so far. I believe Kubota has partnered with Vicon and offers a three bladed disc mower you may want to check out.

the truth is around here you just cant beat a krone cutter.now mind you they are heavy devils.we ran a krone for years and would buy another 1.

IIRC, Kubota has purchased Kuhn. You should be able to buy any Kuhn product in orange paint from a Kubota dealer 8)

When did this happen John? I think you better check a little deeper myself. Because I knew about Kubota buying Vicon. But not Kuhn.
