Where is the most money in cattle this winter?

Looks like I will have 500+ extra rolls of hay this year over what I will need. Maybe more if the weather is good and I can graze until late Feb.
What does anyone think will make the most money this year? I am set up that I can handle cows or calves or both so it really does not matter. I just need to get rid of a lot of hay and I am not going to give it away.
Give me your thoughts.

There's a lot of folks in this area that would be interested in that hay, but freight would be a booger.

I would suggest just stick with your trader cows unless you can get a good deal on some stockers
or if you could get some stockers on contract then that would be ok as well it would be less money but it would at least be less of a risk

cfpinz, there are thousands of rolls of good hay here for sale very cheap. Some for less than I can produce it. As low as $13 for 4x4 rolls. I would rather put mine through cows than take that.

AC, I like the trader cows but with the current slaughter prices they are still too high. With all the extra hay here a lot of people are also looking for something to feed it to.

I know they are to high but so are calves right now unless you wanna buy 6wts and run them thru till spring but if your doing that you had better buy some paper on them to help if the market tanks next spring

On the trader cows I am looking for them to fall about October or Nov

I know exactly what you mean there. I quit selling hay a few years back when fertilizer went sky high, I hated to charge people what I needed to in order to break even. I still sell a few rolls to friends and family but that's about it.
