Congratulations! A heifer to boot! Yahoo! That's fantastic!

Be sure NOT to over feed that calf or you'll be fighting scours something fierce. Jersey calves can do down fast.
Don't forget most likely the calf won't be polled so you need to decide on dehorning or not. If done real young it's not a big deal for them.
If she was here I'd get a halter on the calf and start halter training her from day one. Makes things super easy long term for replacements. It's just another day for them if it's done from the start. I even tie my babies during milking time. They learn very quickly when it's done from day 1 (ish) and seems to really teach them patience which is very helpful down the line. Just a thought since you're planning on keeping her as a replacement.
