Vacation for him, too. Riding in a Deere is better than a 3 day pass to DisneyWorld. :D

2002 ,we went to Mexico for a week and then 3 months later we travelled through the USA for almost a month. I am planning on going to Russia next year with some cousins and my Mom so we can research more of our family tree, but that all depends on what is going on here and if my husband will even be able to stay home and look after the pets and cattle..

Last real vacation was 10 years ago, a 2 week trip to Yellowstone with a couple days in Jackson. Since then, we have spent a week at Table Rock or Pomme de Terre lakes a few times which is nice and relaxing but just not the same as really GOING somewhere. Next February, we are trying to figure out something fabulous yet affordable to do for our 30th anniversary and in-law's 20th. Have been reading the Savannah thread with interest because that was one of the destinations we have discussed.

For getting away from the house was August 22 - 24, 2008. Flew to Florida to attend a Nephews wedding. Other than that, since I quit the paycheck job, every day still seems like I'm on vacation. Vacation time from the paycheck job was always used up around the house.

Four years ago The wife and I and youngest son went to Mexico for a week.

I also go to South Dakota every year for a week to hang out with my up nort friends and shoot a few roosters.

November 2007 my husband and I took off three whole days to go to Oregon to get our dog. We flew down there, and drove home spending two nights in hotels with a puppy. We were planning on going for 5 days so we would have a couple to relax but we had a cow problem and it didn't happen. Instead we got a whole 2 hours to shop. That was our fun time in the trip.
Before that it was our honeymoon.
There was the times during the floods that we got to go stay at the local hotel... not sure that counts though.
Vacations are for the rich and cowless.

My wife and I have taken a vacation in the late spring and early fall for probably 25 years. Been a lot of places Mexico, Bahamas, Fla.
Kinda got away from going so much when we had a son in Fla., but he's now in St. Louis, so we're thinking of Belize this spring. Vacations with my wife, and kids when they were little, is what has kept me married 35 years. gs

Can't remember the last "real" vacation but we take a lot of little Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon trips to places just out in the middle of no where and just goof off, lounge around and eat and drink too much but I don't consider those real vacations.

Never been there, but I bet it is a lot like Disney World. Hot and sweaty plus you wonder if the dam ride is going to break down and why it's leaving a oil trail behind it...

A couple weeks ago when my boyfriend had leave, so we went to New York to visit his older brother that he hadn't seen since he was on R and R over a year ago.

We had a vacation before moving to the farm. A week at Caloundra for the Wintersun Festival, which was a huge rock and roll festival held there. The week before was better than the actual weekend.

Wife and I taking a mini vacation today. Going to the State Fair (to see the Gelbvieh's) and get some eggplant, peppers, and cukes, to can.

Can't wait to eat some lizard on a stick and look at all the new gee-gaws.
