So I’m semi new to the wheat pasture(no till) thing. Never in the past have I fertilized it, it’s a low cost feed so trying to keep inputs low and usually have chicken litter in between Sept-Nov. none yet. Talked to local commercial fertilizer supply place. He advised against it. Said first frost, wheats near dormant, I thought it stayed growing until it got under 38ish. Future hope is to get it planted around Labor Day, this year between drill purchase, vacation, drill repair. It was Oct1ish. Fertilizer guy said Labor Day, fertilize it. Much later and you’re wasting it until spring. NE OK here. Shouldn’t stay under 38(daytime high)until at least Dec possibly Jan.
