Just got in from moving hay bales and hungrier than a bear. Way too early for supper, so I looked in the fridge to see what there was. Ended up with left over fried liver on toast with longhorn cheese melted in the microwave, then sliced raw onion on top. Washed it down with a cup of joe. Actually, it was pretty good.Got me to wondering what kind of odd-ball sandwiches others come up with, and I thought who better to ask than the Cattle Today gang.

Brown rice between two slices of whole wheat. Ugly but filling.

Marshmellow fluff and peanut butter. Makes you fluffy if you eat enough.

And the childhood favorite, the mayonaise sandwich. I still shudder thinking about that one. What was I thinking?

My granddad eats peanut butter and tomato sandwiches. He also eat head cheese sandwiches, that if he can con me in to makeing the Head cheese for him.

My dad always ate thick slices of sweet onions on buttered bread. As kids we thought it was gross but now it doesn't sound so bad.

Left over cold tater salad between a couple slices of bread if pretty good. Heck even mashed taters make a good sandwich as long as their cold.

oh yes theres no telling how meny mayo sandwiches i ate as a kid.an i loved them.
I still eat 'em! We called 'em salad dressing sandwiches - Miracle Whip only! Absoluteley no substitutes allowed. The wife has celiac (sp) and can only have Hellmanns Mayo. I tried to gag one of those down but it just wasn't the same, wasn't gonna happen.

Cold tongue and mustard on bread, mmmm.
When I was in 3rd grade I had show and tell. Brought cold cut up tongue and made everyone try it before I told them what it was!

We always had the old aunt who lived in town who had been thru 5 or 6 husbands and she was kinda kooky. She would always fix us cool-whip sandwiches. We hated them even though we loved cool-whip!

Corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island, and swiss. On rye. Grilled. Called a Reuben. You might have heard of it.

1/4" thick baloney cut from the roll, 1/4" thick longhorn cheese, miracle whip, and white bread. Haven't had that since I was a teenager, but it was really good back then.

Just a couple of slices of bread and mustard back when we didn't have anything ele to go between it.

i'm glad we ain't there anymore.
