I am trying to decide what bull will give me the best calves to retain as replacement heifers out of my small framed angus cross cows. I want to keep them relatively small. This bull will also be breeding my LH cows but my main concern is a bull that will compliment these 3 cows.

I am leaning towards Hereford. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. I am generally a cheapskate but am ready to spend some money on this bull.

I like angus and hereford. You just can't seem to go wrong with black or black baldie. IN MY OPINION (just a cautionary measure) if you are going to buy based on looks and you want to keep them small look for something small and stay away from the frying pan heads and broad chest. They look good but it kinda goes back to my analogy of the bull mastiff and poodle mix. If you put the bull mastiff on top, the poodle will never be the same.
