Hey folks....need some more of that great advice you all have been giving me. My steers are now 5 mos. and 3 mos. The guy that showed me how to cut them gave them a tetanus shot and wormer at that time ( 2.5 months old and 2 weeks old). They have had nothing since. We have never had cattle on our farm. The previous owner had a few horses. They are currently confined to a pen we built around the barn and out into a small pasture.

What vaccines do they need now? Wormers? :help:

Thanks for your help. Gale

I personally prefer a modified-live vaccine (ie Bovishield Gold) over a killed vaccine (ie Virashield)... still vaccinating for the same things, but it's said to provide better protection. Regardless of what you use, read the labels, you need one that covers BVD types I and II, IBR, PI3, and BRSV.

I'd also suggest vaccinating for the main clostridial diseases - ie blackleg. I use Ultrabac 8, but any 7 or 8 way vaccine should work fine.
