Help Support CattleToday:

"Range Cubes" are a pretty standard "treat" for any bovine. Excellent for training, gathering, getting them used to humans. For any reason other than "supplementing a diet", usually just a handful or so is adequate.

Ours seem to prefer whatever you have in your hand. Range cubes are good, had a yoke of oxen that really liked those cheap cardboard tasting wafer type cookies.

I give my longhorns about a pound of ground barley every day when I feed hay. That way when they see me head toward the barn they always come running. During the summer I'll give them a little every couple weeks so they don't forget.

I have one cow that hates the corral and chute, so whenever I run them through the chute I give them a little also, she's been a lot easier to work with the last couple years.
