What is this cow?

She is a product of maple heights in Owenton, KY. No pedigree. Came as a commercial bred heifer. Had a good calf, was a good mother, good feet, easy to work, etc. I wonder what she is!!! bse commented one time that she might have Pinzguaer in her. Maple heights producer said his heifers have simmental in them in recent years but they go back to genetics that are mixed.

Used to get char cross calves that would have a skunk tail. Hard to tell as there are so many combos that will do that.

Pinz or Long horn cross. Head looks more like a LH than a pinz.

I once saw a (milking shorthorn x Holstein) x angus that looks like skunk. You can get skunks from British White x Angus or Speckle x Angus as well but she looks like a Pinz cross to me.

This little cutie is primarily Simmental with a splash of Char and minute slivers of BB and Holstein.

Could be a number of factors.

Looks like some of the angus x Pinzgauer calves we have. Seems like she does have a different shaped head.

We had lots of calves colored like that and was char bull x black angus some char bulls will throw white tail and it really sticks with the offspring often a couple generations

Echoing others here, Ron.
Could be Pinzgauer, could be Longhorn, could be Charolais influence.

Had, at one point in time, a little yellow, line-back cow with some Charolais in her background - and a daughter, sired by a fullblood Pinzgauer. The old cow had more 'finching' on her than the PZx daughter - and both would occasionally throw a calf with a white tail.
The little yellow cow would usually drop a white Charolais-looking calf, when bred to an Angus bull - and I have several 'white' cows in the herd that are descended from her, but all are >90% Angus; wouldn't surprise me to have one of 'em throw a skunk tail.
