What is this Bull Calf?

BTW I have a couple like that they are Balancers(1/2GV ans 1/2 Angus) they start out that color and turn blk by the end of summer

Well I see either some Swiss or a Jersey blood in the cow in the first pic so I'm guessing this calf may also have some sort of dairy breed crossed in. The other reason I believe this is a dairy cross is I have several calves that are half Holstein and half Balancer and have similar coloring. Then again I'm probably way off.

Thanks. He came out of a black Angus cow. He's at least 4.5 months younger than the Longhorn he is next to.
How does he " look" to you?

Who knows. On some peoples farm he might be a step up from the current herd bull. Some days it seems like it' all relavent.

My buddy doesn't need a bull so I ask him the other day " What are you going to do with him?" Sell him he said. I'm thinking
of penning him up with another " feeder" and making him into beef steak. I don't think him being a bull is going to hurt that effort. Do you ? Thanks in advance.

Why? Why make a steer out of him if ? I see studies that show he will gain quicker than if he was cut.

If you lok you'll probably find studys that based on the situation steers perform on feed better.
As to the reason for cutting him, easier to habdle less dsruptive and it doesn;t matter what his room mate is
