I don't eat any meal that don't involve meat. Well.....maybe fruit loops, but I would prefer them with a ribeye on the side. :cowboy:

Now that's an interesting article alison.
I know other woman with that similar skeletal 'old' appearance... yes they have restricted diets though not necessarily vegetarian, my mother isn't. She's been in constant pain for better than twenty years.
Which is the reason for the diet.
This makes me tired... more than I can explain.
The lack of diagnosis, that's just par for the course. Maybe things have changed in more modern times. For the better, I don't know.

I don't understand how people who eat vegetarian or vegan diets convince themselves they are healthy. They have to take supplements because their diet doesn't fill the needs of their body. That should be a pretty good clue right there!

I love to ruin those "healthier-than-thou" people's day when they find out I eat red meat more than any other, smoke, drink soda, love a sugary snack, don't get flu shots, etc., yet I never get sick and don't have to take any prescriptions. I do try to eat a wide variety of vegetables along with my meat and try to ingest something with anti-oxidants every day. (Great news - tea, coffee and chocolate all have them!)

I'm with you MO-cows. I eat what I want, when I want always have.Drink, smoke,on no medication what-so-ever,still at the age of almost 69(in March)I wear the same size boots hat and shirts and britches that I wore at 19 years old.Maybe being in Nam at the age of 19 stunted my growth. Can still get out and do an honest day's work like I used to.Just takes me longer to re-generate than it used to. Now I'm not by no means saying I can work as hard as I used to,but I'am saying there's a lot of the younger generation I can still put to shame. And if y'all think I'm bragging you are perfectly right. I am very thankfull that I can still go like I do. I rekon I just never took the time to get old.But I know it will hit me square in the azz some day, just hope it's not in the near future.
I do know not to make any long term plans at my age

Cal, I had dinner at the cafe the other day with a friend, mentor really, he's 83 years old and runs 500 mama cows, still does most of the work himself. Funny thing is he wasnt the old man there, the other fella is 94, and runs 200 mamas. You're a spring chicken my friend.

Nothing wrong with a good balanced diet ;-) .
 here here...the best you can have, and the most interesting, not the same boring same old same old. I eat red meat just once a week, it hasn't done me any harm in fact it has made me better, insulin intake has gone down, no other meds all gone, but what works for one doesn't necessarily work for all. That's what's good about life it is for the individual to make up his/her own mind how he/she wants to live it....'Live and let live'

and that photo of Gillian McKeith was a bit unfair she had been in the show 'I'm a Celebrity get me out of here' jungle for about three weeks, and Nigella had been to a TV Promotions show, not a good comparison IMO.

Maybe its just me but I still think she is beautiful and as you point out its natural. On the otherhand, it is amazing what a pound or two of foundation and copious amounts of makeup can do for a woman. Personally, I'd take natural beauty of cosmetic any day cause I'd hate to wake up next to my grandmother. ;-)

I used to feel the same as you Jo,but at this day and time I'm just glad that me and Grandma can just wake up in the morning.

I know what you are saying Calman. Heck, my wife is older than McKeith but she surely doesn't look as haggard and wrinkled as the first photo - with or without makeup. Maybe its the preservatives in our diet that keeps her looking lovely. Growing old together is beauty unto itself. As for me, I'm just as ugly as the day they dropped me on the floor in the delivery room. On my face no less. My X, on the otherhand, went on a health binge and only drinks soy milk and other weird stuff. I'll say she is slimmer now than ever - with the exception of the areas the doctors added stuff - but her chiselled features sure make her look aged. This is something I've noticed about many of the health nuts. I'm sure there are plenty of exceptions but not many that I can think of in my little piece of paradise.

just looking at the first woman makes me want to irragate my colon :cowboy:

She'd be a great candidate for AI. Who is it we're gonna hire? It might be expensive.
