Marshall ryegrass (sown October 13) is up enough to give the cows some limited grazing time on it. They're getting 1 hour/day on 2-acre parcels, then it's back to the hay. There is some Wrens Abruzzi Rye on the edges. This is a one of my hay fields. Moved the cows over here October 30 to graze down the Pearl Millet I had on my new ground. An added benefit was that this ryegrass is now up enough to give them a taste each day. AND, this is allowing their regular pasture (5.5 miles away) that was been drilled with the rye and ryegrass (October 13), a chance to get a good root hold and head start before they get on it. Will probably move them back there next week.
