I was in the dry cleaner's this morning. Hadn't been all summer because the hub wears shorts to work and I iron his shirts. Anyway, the lady who owns the place asked me if I had any dauchshunds and I told her we did and one was recently run over. Then she confessed that her husband was the one that had done it, and he felt so bad about it.
It was really quite moving. She was almost crying as she told me that he'd been unable to avoid her and that he had put her on our driveway not knowing if we were her owners. He said she'd died instantly and that was some relief to me.
I was the one that had to comfort her. Bless her heart, I think she really felt better after she told about it.
I am happy knowing that Lulu didn't suffer.
