So what do y'all think of Ali? I'm having by heifer AI'ed to a son of Ali, DCC Just R Luck which the breed DeRouchy thinks Just R Luck is better then Ali himself. But if you have bred to Ali what do you think of the claves?
 
I know right. The calves I've seen out of him look really good. Plus the BW is great for first time heifers. I know the first calf isn't always that good, but I really think he got what it takes. Plus most of the Maine bulls BW is a little high for first time heifers.
 
i like him. were AIing some heifers to him this june. neighbor recoomended him and closed the deal by seeing his calves that he got outta him. im exciting to see how our calves come out.

I have used him on a couple heifers, they had no problems and I really liked the calves. If I was going to use a Maine bull anymore for heifers he would be my choice.

Have saw some nice bulls and heifers out of him from some other producers.
 
I think Ali produces some of the soundest calves you can get. I don't think you can go wrong with him. I asked Harlan Yocham (who co-owns several Maine bulls with Phil Lautner) what bull he thought produced the best calves on a consistent basis.... he at that time (a year ago this past September), said Ali was his pick. A lot of folks think Ali is pretty much the undisputed calving ease sire.

Harlan Yocham? OMG you know him??before i say anymore do you think he is a good judge? Where is he located? I hope this is not who i think it is
 
Yes, I think Harlan is an excellent judge. He was a member of the 2005 Champion National Livestock Judging Team. I've watch him judge a number of shows and even had him judge a show our ag chapter sponsored. I think he is one of the most "watchable" young judges around. I love the way he talks reasons, he really knows his cattle, and is good with the exhibitors. Of course, I know everybody has their favorites and one person's pick of judges is another person's least liked.... but I really appreciate Harlan's judging style and professionalism. I do not know where he is located right now but he is from Sapulpa, Oklahoma and attended OSU.

I am sure you are right. but i have had some really bad excperiences with him so it leads me to question him. Yes, He can judge Cattle. But he can not judge showmanship. sorry.


How about we leave it at this?? i don;t want to start a fight. everone is entitled to there own likes and dislikes
