Wife got backed into at the bank last month. The other persons insurance refuses to pay because it was on private property and the officer didnt take pictures. The only pictures taken were by my wife and its not clear how it happened on them. That doesnt matter though cause yesterday we were rear ended by none other than our insurance agent. There not much damage but he will pay for the whole thing even the part he didnt do without filing a claim. We were on the way to pick up my truck from the dodge dealer that has had it since monday and cant seem to fix it. Luckily its under warranty still cause the trouble is in the transmission. They changed the valve body and that didnt fix it. I need it to haul hay. I have another truck i had been using for work but it suddenly wont start. Ran fine when i parked it there. If it werent for bad luck id have none at all. Rant over.

When you get the words "Dodge" and "Transmission" in the same sentence, it usually spells trouble...

Neighbor had a similar problem with his dodge, took 4-5 trys before they got it right. Tutned out it was an external tube from the transmission to the cooler.

Since I like you so much Craig I won't make a disparaging remark about Dodge trucks. Mechanical problems can occur within any brand.

Sorry for your string of bad luck.

Well if it was a Ford you'd have done head gaskets 3 times instead!

I've had those days/weeks/months/years too.. when just everything you touch seems to have a curse on it.. Hope you get the exorcist to work it out!

I appreciate that TT. This is the first dodge anybody in the family has had in 25 years. I have had it over a year no issues. Overall its been a good truck. I was expecting more than a year before something went wrong though. The dealer on the other hand has not impressed me much.

I feel you. Had back surgery, and then got blood clots spent thanksgiving in the hospital. Two days before Christmas some idiot driving on the wrong side of the road ran my wife off the road totaled her truck, and destroyed her ankle. She had surgery on the 9th of January and can't put any weight on her foot for 12 weeks, so down to just my income with a crap load of doctor bills. I am left doing work around here I am not suppose to be doing. One tractor has a leak in the diesel tank cant put enough diesel in it for it to run can't get no one to mess with it till weather gets better. Was putting out hay with my other tractor messed up the lift arm waiting on the parts to fix it until then I am tractorless. Fixing it is another job I shouldn't be messing with but need the tractor. As Craig said if not for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck. Not trying to hijack Craig's post just felt like ranting.

I have had a semi-Job year. Lost Dad in November, had to put down my dog in January, gal I dated for nearly three years decided she "needed more space", someone stole my truck last spring, the new house I was going to build last summer..... they got the foundation poured last week, bull mashed me last month, etc, etc. But the sun is shining today. There have certainly been trials but the good Lord also has blessed in many ways.

Speaking of bad luck. My daughter got rear ended. Nothing major. Other driver .... a preacher .... had insurance papers and said his insurance would take care of it. Deputy did his work and wrote up accident report. Preacher kept jacking us around so we called his insurance carrier and turns out he wasn't insured and was one of these people who sign up for insurance then let it lapse to save money. Talked to him on the phone but didn't let him know what we knew and he said he wasn't about to let us get jacked around by any insurance company him being a man of God and all. He said he would pay the damages himself and to go on and get it fixed and send us the bill.

I may look stupid but once you start lying to me my radar is up. Carried it to my insurance company and they filed it on the uninsured policy which cost me a deductible which by rights I shouldn't have to pay anything had this guy had insurance. Seeking justice, I went by the sheriff's office to tell them what happened and how this guy didn't have insurance. To my surprise they had trouble finding the accident report so I spoke to the sheriff. As it turns out the deputy ..... also a preacher ..... just hadn't found the time in the six weeks to log this report in the system. Sheriff, a friend of mine, carried him in a room and I believe had a come to Jesus meeting with him. Citations were served the next day and as it turns out he didn't save anything by not being insured.

Am still out my deductible but the insurance company will be suing him for the claim. I suspect they will just write it off though but if they do collect I'll get my deductible back. And before anyone gets upset about me bashing a preacher you have to understand we have many who just wake up one day after living a life of sin and claim to be a preacher with no training or morals only because its an easy gig.

Looks like ill be rolling in style to OK. They havent fixed the truck yet and said they dont have a loaner so ill be rolling on the minivan. Ill have to wear my shades so nobody recognize me. They said it looks like the tranny been under water. The plug going to the pcm had water and mud in it. Replaced that and found something else full of water. They wanted to know what i had been doing with it. I said well i use the four by bu i aint no kid tearing through the mud in it. I guess theyll have it figured out by time i get back Saturday.

Sorry for everyone's bad luck. And Jogeephus your preacher friend needs to be in jail. I would pay the money and have papers served. He will have to pay you and court cost. And the state should have to pay your deductible, it their job to keep uninsured drivers off the road.

Had a similar deal to what Jo had. The difference was that is was my fault. It had just rained after a couple of months of none and I had studded snow tires on the truck. Guy in a new chevy full size truck in front of me stopped and when I hit the brakes I speeded up, those studs don;t do much on a paved oily surface. I hit him in the rear, bent my bumper but totalled his new truck. The bed pushed into the cab and bent the frame. We both had to go to court the same day, me for too fast for conditions, him for no insurance. My fine was 50 bucks, his was a thousand for no insurance.

Well to go on and hijack the thread all the way.
Here we have to have proof in the truck, doesn't matter that it comes back valid when they run the tags. If we somehow loose our little piece of paper they are glad to write a ticket to someone who has never not had insurance. (No I haven't had one but plenty have)
There has been two wrecks in front of my shop involving my stuff, both times hit from behind. Once I was the one hit.
Anyway both times they didn't have insurance, no ticket given or even talked about.

Jed, this preacher works for a sue lawyer that advertises on television so you can imagine he knows how the game works. He had proof of insurance but what I learned is there is a three month lag between the insurance company and the police having up to date information so apparently you can let the insurance lag for three months and no one is the wiser unless you have an accident. The scary part is what would have happened had someone been injured. This guy is just a POS and I'm glad he got fined.

HG, I do need to take him to small claims court for the rest but knowing he had to pay is enough. If he can live with it I can live without it.

Hiding your values behind cloth is about as low as you can get. That's a pretty good saying.
