I know there are several varities of lovegrass and with my luck I have the variety that absolutely nothing will eat. It is primary on one pasture that also has bermuda and bahia.

What can I plant to choke out the lovegrass or what should I do to get rid of it? I have about 25+ plants per acre.

Dusty Britches,

I know nothing of Lovegrass so I may be missing something but if you only have about 25 plants of Lovegrass per acre, couldn't you use RoundUp on the plants? It shouldn't take too long to dose them up with Roundup in a sprayer. Additional applications may be required as needed to ensure complete kill.

This is how I handle spot treatments in my pastures to kill unwanted items where it is not necessary to spray the entire field. Sometimes I use the 25 gallon sprayer on the 4 wheeler while other times i use the 2.5 gallon pump up hand sprayer.

Am I missing something?
