There was a special sale last Friday night at our local sale barn in Pulaski and I saw a Watusi/Longhorn cross heifer with half her horns sawed off sell for $650.00. I bought three Longhorn cows; they had over 100 Longhorn cows and about 160 commercial beef cows and heifers. Most black (Angus, Brangus and everything in between that was black but who knows what breed they actually were), some Chars (didn't sell real well), baldies etc.
Longhorns brought anywhere from $375.00 to $800.00 each, blacks brought $400.00 to $1200.00 each.
That Watusi heifer looked really good if they had not sawed her horns, guess they did that for roping???
