No but the best steak I ever ate was a tender loin from a 15-20 yr old Cape buffalo bull, cooked over an open fire in a cast iron skillet. 45 years ago in Botswana, aged about 10 hours! How much you thinking $$ ??
You ever had a WB steak ?
There have been attempts to cross them with cattle, but no viable embryo can be produced. None have survived longer than the 8-cell stage of development. There are two species pf water bufflalo: Swamp buffalo have 48 chromosones, and river buffalo have 50 chromosones. Cattle and bison have 60.Seems like Water Buffalo crosses would do well in swampy country.
The bovine kind, Water Buffalo is another term for massively obese women.
I didn't get to go today, Kenny. They will post the results later tonight or tomorrow, though. The sale should be over by now, so how did they sell? Im not sure the slaughter buyers can mix them with cows to kill so that limits the buyers.
Yeah, I found out someone bought them before the sale, and did not run them through. They were both so gentle that people were riding them. The man who got them bought them for his wife to have as novelty pets, and he is going to use the cow as a nurse cow. Buffalo milk is a lot richer and has more fat and higher protein than cow's milk.Lots of stuff in their report but no water buffalo.
