Hi guys,
This is a long shot with something that has been bothering me for a while.
3 years ago, we bought an Angus heifer. Before breeding, she had warts. I never paid attention since they always say to let it go and it will disappear. Throughout the breeding season, she kept coming back into heat every 20 days until the warts disappeared. Since then, she has never had any fertility problems and becomes pregnant at her first heat. Good physical condition, mother without fertility problems, etc. The following year, same scenario. A bred heifer who develops warts, aborts and cycles every 20 days thereafter. She was empty at the vet check but still had warts. This year, we are starting again. Heifer who has warts and cycles every 20 days. Like what the hell! I have no warts on my adult cows. I have had each of the heifers checked by the vet over the years. Coincidence or? I just saw that the wart vaccine has been approved in Canada. I'm waiting for the vet to open on Monday to order it, but... Have you ever noticed any changes in fertility? I don't have any fertility problems other than with these animals.
