Well I think I know what is going on here. I think that one of those big ole gals is taking the picture. Looks like warpaint and crowder have come to ask for her hand and they are offering up mules as the dowry. Looks like the guy on the right has the other guy beat cuz he has 2 mules. I can't figure out who is who though. Which one likes a full figured woman best?
