China is trying to take over Unocal Oil this is just what we need.
One of the reasons we are getting spanked on energy prices is Bill Clnton destroyed the American Oil industry.
We have the French with Fina,Dutch with Shell, Brits with Amoco,Arco,Bayer chemicals and Castrol, Venzulians(sp) with Citgo, Saudis got part of Texaco.
A lot of these corp. believe we should be paying more for energy.
Write your congressman we have already lost over 40,000 well paying jobs and retirement plans for Americans.

Wake up Americans we have lost
Amoco
Arco
Texaco
Soho
Gulf
Mobil(swallowed up by Exxon to small to compete against the 3 super Majors)
And a ton of smaller corps
No other country in the world would allow the loss of so many jobs or threat to National security by foreign countries.

Not sure if I added this website correctly, sorry if not. I'm sure this story is in major papers around. My question CC is Chevron is not on your list, and I am curious if this corp is still held by the U.S.? I am assuming yes...please let me know if you have that info.

On another note, considering all the pressure corp's are under to show profit for the shareholders, and these shareholders seemed conscientous enough to accept a lower offer based on something other than $$...morals? ethics? If in fact Chevron is a US corp.....

jt there is some kind of merger happening with Texaco branded stations as Shell has rebranded a lot in this area that I have not got to the bottom of.
Texaco was swallowed by Chevron and part sold off to the Saudis and Texaco has not exsisted as a corp since 01.

Around here, several independent Ma and Pa type convenience stores are buying their gas from local indepenent oil companies. The company where I work has a commercial account with one named Clark Oil Co. They have their own brand of lubricants as well. Many local stations are supplied by Clark.
