Anyone heard of any specialty markets for Wagyu 1/2 and 3/4 cross cattle or would that be something that you would have to develop yourself ?
 
I know there was a huge demand for F1 wagyu x Angus crosses because of faster growth. 3/4 wagyu tends to be slower than F1 wagyu crosses.
 
I have a friend who raises them. She markets the meat herself, selling at Farmers Markets and now has a small meat market.
It has taken her several years to develop her business and gain a clientele. She also sells to restaurants.

Are you speaking of the cattle themselves, or beef? There will always be a market for well marbled beef, but you would need to find the buyers yourself. I suppose there’s a market somewhere for selling the cattle and getting the premium, though I don’t know where it is.
 
I hear supply isn't even close to meeting demand. I would put them online somewhere like cattlerange, and maybe contact the Akaushi people to see what they have to say. We have seriously been considering breeding our heifers Wagyu in the next few years.

Lots of guys use waygu bulls on their heifers here and the calves are under contract before they're ever born. Look into snake river farms.
 
Thank you all for the replies. If I decide going that way I have quite a bit of research ahead of me.
 
Quite a few places around to sell the calves and get a market premium especially if you buy or lease bulls from those folks. Have a good friend that is working for a wagyu breeder, let me know if you want contact info.

yes. quite a few fall calving guys around california rent those bulls from Snake River for their first calf heifers and contract the calves back. I'm not personally into it for our first calf heifers but i know many guys do it and have for several years now.
