Because the family has been fighting over money for decades, they'd rather have money than the biggest ranch in america, with that long (proud) family history to uphold. The only good news is, that it was sold whole. The family didn't care about that even.

There's vineyards for example in other parts of the world that have 30 generations behind them, but somehow in america it all comes crumbling down over money and greed more often than not.

We don't like to admit it but there is nothing more worthless on earth than the child of a rich man who has never worked a day then inherits a piece of land. My aunt spent her entire life drinking and living a life of sin. Let her second husband molest her teenage daughters by the first drunk she married. Had a boy with the second husband who they left in his dirty diaper for so long he got bacterial meningitis and is still paralyzed on one half of his body. Naturally this was seen as good fortune by the two who have been living off his federal disability check ever since.

They inherited land that they never visit or take care of except to threaten other family members with lawsuits for spraying herbicide on their weeds on our fencelines.

The founding fathers hated the decadent, incestuous land inheritance of Europe.

So I did some digging...
That guy Stan Kroenke owns pretty much all the major ranches in BC.. Douglas Lake Ranch.. 325,000 deeded acres, bought for 63 million a decade or so ago (cheap!), Alkali lake ranch (Can't find info on the size.. it's big) and many others just in BC.

So what else does this guy own.. because the Wichita Falls article doesn't really list it
