Hey all, I thought there was already a virus thread, but I cannot find it.

We, in the West, are sometimes hoodwinked by govt info. Seems that wat at times.

We sometimes are cocky over third world or even other similar country events.

This corona virus, well, it prob wont hurt most, but, if our systems are over run, well, that could be a big hassle. We can see how idiotic many are hoarding toilet paper etc and panic buying....

So, take it serious, not cause you will die, but, because we can help slow the spread, which, is aim of the game, yet our govts do not seem to put this msg across properly.

It is easy to lower contact, even when doing most things. Put ot into action before they say you should......

I hope everyone does, cause I think US and us and some others will soon explode with cases, and those most in need may not get right help if we all do not do our bit to slow things....

Dont think it needs to be too severe...

I will go for some feed soon....so instead of a hand shake....I will keep my work gloves on...will do everything on my truck...stay 5 ft or so away from workers and not touch anything of thiers.....pretty easy really.....

Bit harder if you work in an office on a shared computer, but maybe you can ask what arrangements can be made in such a workplace.....

And if course.. do not cough or sneeze....if you have a cough.. really need to isolate....

You do not need to be to a surgeon to use common sense. This may not be so obvious to those with a lack of sense I guess.

Some statements have been vague by leaders, do not wait is my suggestion, take it or leave it, but anyone ignoring may be, or, may in future, help spread and some may get very ill and not be able to get hospital treatment.

It is not hard to take some steps, in fact, most seem just good manners and hygeine, but society has been losing this ettiquette for some time.

Our gov say no gatherings of 500 or more, I decided no gatherings if I can help it, no unnecessary contact. US now says 10, big diff right there as a great example.

While some in cattle may not be good with numbers, no need to be Eienstein to know there may be a crisis if a hospital system is stressed in normal times....it does not take much extra in patients, and, if you lose some staff to illness.....bingo.....your in a pickle. Let alone lack of spare equiptment in a sudden spike.

I think you may find an explosion in the problem in the US, we may also. We are not immune by taking a smug approach.

Hopefully the lead time has allowed countries to ready the medical systems.

I do agree wholeheartedly with what you have said Greggy. If anyone can dodge it, it should be me as I live in the bush literally. I have banned all visitors and have been practicing my biosecurity for a couple of weeks now when I go to the supermarket yet I have found a number of weak spots in my practices, however the aim is to minimise the risk. Today I went to the Coop to buy some fertiliser and seed. I put it on my account rather than pay by card so I didn't have to touch the keypad on the eftpos machine yet they stuck a pen in my hand to sign for things. I went from the loading dock to the office and was confronted by a door knob, derrrrr.. Anyhow hopefully things are still clear in our town and by the time it gets here which may be tomorrow I will have my technique right.

My neighbour and good friend Mario spent the weekend at the Gold Coast doing a bit of "nesting", one of our hotspots. I have exiled Mario for at least a couple of weeks from our morning coffees. I think Mario thinks I am being a bit excessive, he visited his mother in a nursing home (in 80's and had a stroke) on Monday but is now complaining that the nursing home is in lockdown until at least the end of April which is only logical. It will be hard for his family but what else can they do.

He is applying for the job. I think Greggy's specialty is brain surgery though.

Ken

If fececious, I should have said, how did you know ? To the question :)

Re brain surgery, well, I am probabaly a lot more experienced than people would believe....my life has been very complex....and very diverse, it can be a cause of much frustration at times.

This stuff seems like advanced kindergarten......I am sure many who had good up bringing must just be ignoring what they had been shown....

If someone does not give a crap about anyone else, then, yeah, they will just do whatever or think it is a conspiracy......

I spoke to someone at a large company today, re feed, anyway, they started to tell me of some changes in procedure in feed pick up....

Also, none of my contacts were at work.

I was pretty blunt, anyway, the changes are due to the virus, to be honest, they have no issue anyway, there is zero contact apart from needing too pay......which should be a simple change.

They are panicing....lol.....prob would not get it if you sent in some fly blown corona corpses....but, at least they are thinking about it.........one city supermarket would be many times of large maganatude a much larger problem, and they would be blindly carrying on...

Do they.....is it that obvious....darn.

It is not that common any longer. Plenty of evidence of that on show atm when shops have no toilet paper etc....people often get thier smarts from twitter or facey now.
