Veal Outlook

Could someone provide answers to the following questions: 1) Where can I find a publication regarding the outlook of the veal industry? I have sent an email to vealfarm.com and it came back to me "undeliverable".

2) In looking at prices of cattle on the open market, which prices should I be most concerned with when looking for what a week old bull calf may cost. This will help me determine costing structure for my veal farm business plan.

> Thanks in advance! For calf prices look at aution prices at "dairy sale". In this area there are several auction yards which are primarily dairy sales in that they sell springer. This draws in dairy farmers who then bring in there bull calves. These yards will typically have much larger numbers of calves and thus give you a better picture of the market. If you don't know of the dairy sale in your area ask a dairy farmer I would bet they will know.
