A new basic S01 model lists for $2,599, and is on sale now at Fleet Farm for $1,999.
So I am considering a used unit that has sat outside. It is missing some paint but it works.
What is a reasonable price for a used one ?

Steve, I try not to give more than 60% of new value of equipment. If I can't get it for that I buy new.

one went for $800 at an auction I was at last week. Not sure if that helps or not though.

I think they should be taking more than $600 bucks of a used chute regardless though.

Preifert is ok for small cattle - but I wouldnt be running anything thru it over 1700 lbs they might tote it off. lol Try this > http://www.for-most.com/index.html
We['ve had a good number over 1800 lbs and a couple over a ton and never had a problem. Had a 2500 lb bull in ours last year, went in and came out just like he should have.

Wow--local McCoy price is $200 more with the manual headgate. I need to move somewhere else.

About 2 years ago I drove 3-3 1/2 hours to Dayton Tx., To pick up a good used Priefert S01 manual head for $1600. I had been looking for a couple of years prior to that and found there weren't many in good shape to choose from, and when there were, they went fast and high. Around here they wanted $2800 new and no moving on the price.
If I could have got one close to $2k I'd have jumped.
