Found a 2004 Ranger with 474 hours on it originally owned by a older couple, husband passed and wife been using it last 4 years. Anyone have one in this year range? Any thing to look for? Dealer that she traded it in to is asking $4400, too high?
 
I think its too high of a price ... just IMO ... I tend to buy alot of my stuff at auctions and get good things pretty cheap. I rarely buy things from dealers if I can help it...
 
I have one somewhere in that year range but mine is a professional series. I think same motor but most everything else heavier. It is 6X6 meaning all six will pull if engaged. Aint done anything to it and sure would not take that for it.
Standard version is quite a bit cheaper I am sure.

Check into the little mini trucks from japan. They can be handy as a pocket on a shirt but a little bigger then the standard UTV. They do have a lot bigger bed and the bed is lower then on the UTVs
 
I often wonder if it was the ATV industry instead of the licensing issues that killed the importation of those little trucks. A buddy has two, one with a dump bed, the other with fold down sides. Like Dun said, "handier than a shirt pocket". They get up and go, 4 wheel drive, power steering, wipers, defrosters, everything we expect in a vehicle, can haul 3 people, 2 adults comfortably, plus payload. I know where one is with the timing belt broken, waiting for him to realize it isn't made of gold then will offer a little higher than scrap price for it.
 
I have the 2004 Ranger that I purchased new. I believe that this was the first year with the Independent Rear Suspension.
I only have about 250 hours on it but it is a very hard-working vehicle. Quite often I pull a 14' trailer for fencing, brush removal, and firewood hauling.

The only problem I have ever had is the electric fuel pump. I am on my forth one now but they are easy to replace.

I consider mine very clean and well cared for but I do not think I could get $4400 for it.
 
Called back yesterday morning to make a offer and someone had bought it and loading it up. I always am relucant to make a decision and miss out on what seems to be a deal at the time. Oh well.
