Who says this ain't a free country?

Mohammad Atta and his buddies were free to take flight instruction courses.
 
It is nowhere close to being free as the founder's that penned the Constitution intended.
Had the Federal government continued to operate as the writer of the constitution Thomas Jefferson wrote the Civil War would have never occured. It was intended to be the Independent but United States of America.

There has been a slow and methodical power grab of tyrant's that has accelerated in the last few year's IMO. Carrying us farther and farther away from the Constitution.
 
Just pull that isolating circle a little closer around ya CB, it'll be ok--------------till it ain't.

Took a ride across the Lynchburg ferry Friday and across the Bolivar Ferry yesterday just as I have done countless times in my lifetime. Don't get caught taking pictures of the ferry personnell or the operations of the ferry or the Sherffi's Dept (or worse) will be waiting on the other side. Don't even think about going aboard with a DOT/EPA approved gasoline or diesel can in the back of your truck or in your trunk, and be prepared to be randomly pulled out of line and have your vehicle gone COMPLETELY thru in a detailed search. Be prepared to have your film or digital camera confiscated if you take a pic of the little USCG escort boat that sometimes runs along side the ferry too. Got a lawnmower or weedeater in the back of your truck? It better be a brand new one that has never had a single drop of fuel or oil in it--otherwise, you won't be allowed to board. Little freedoms we took for granted most of my life--POOF!--gone, but they aren't bothering people in Iowa so those loss of freedoms "don't exist".
Sit in the air conditioned comfort of your vehicle on the Lynchburg ferry? Not any more--just swelter in the 100 degree heat as the hot air from the engine room comes out right into your window--and no, you cannot get out of your vehicle, tho I had always done so from the first time I crossed it in a vehicle back in the 60s until just a few years ago.

Yep, they still let us haul ALL that stuff across bridges in Iowa! Its a free country! :D

We can moan and groan all day about the loss of freedoms, but in reality nobody took them away. We gave them up. Willingly. We went to sleep at the wheel and were much too complacent with who we were sending to Washington and what they were doing (or not doing) there. We really sold our souls in the aftermath of 9/11 when we let the Patriot Act get passed. Gave away the store under the illusion of public safety. No one to blame but ourselves.

And, the really sad part, we're still fallin' for it. Yep, by golly, if we just elect enough _________________________ this election, all our problems will be solved. Get out there and vote ______________________. So, how's that workin' out for us??? Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me, type of thing.

We need to take off our party blinders and put down our party pom poms and just vote anti-incumbent until the system has been thoroughly flushed.

Except almost half the country did try to do something about it, that's why I can't blame myself, I just can't do anything about all the people who are on welfare don't have to work and could go vote as many times as they wanted.

Except it has happened over and over again with the power going back and forth between the two major parties over the years and things don't get fixed, they only continue to get worse. Stop falling for the same old con.
