Uneven cut on cutter?

I have a JD MX10 that is about 6 years old. When clipping tall grass it just seems to not pick the grass back up that the tractor runs over to cut it. The day after you mow the field justs looks rough, when cutting short stuff it does good. Usually I have my pastures clipped early but they got done later this year and they look rough. Maybe I am being picky but thought it ought to do better. Any ideas for improvement?

Running the tractor at rated pto speed and it is 62pto so the power should be there. Tried a different set of blades a couple years aog with little improvement.

thats an easy fix.you need to get some new blades put on your shredder.an that will fix the prob.your blades are wore out an dull.

Might be going to fast, try slowing down so the suction blades have time to lift the tall grass, chew it up, ad spit it out. Keeping blades sharp aids in this. Biggest problem in tall grass is tractor tires breaking over the grass so that it can't stand up to be cut. Not a lot that can be done about that beyond cutting the grass real short which is not what I would want to do.

Wish thqt was what it needed. put new high suction blades on it, helper slightly.

Going 4 mph, and will check if I get the back of the cutter up a little more, most all of that adjustment is gone I think. The rubber shields may be hurting it as it says chains are better.

Is it one track of the tractor or both tracks? If it is just one there is nothing to do, but cut lower or shorter.

Is it one track of the tractor or both tracks? If it is just one there is nothing to do, but cut lower or shorter.

My JD 616 has the same problem, the blades are straight (more or less) and don;t create any lift. The Bush Hog 3008 has a high lift twist at the cutting end of the blade and I don;t have the problem with it.

I haven't seen a mower that doesn't have that problem when mowing tall grass unless you mow it really short. The only advice I can give you is drive backwards.
